Tension fills the air. Two strangers lock eyes Afraid to say a word, Afraid of saying something wrong, Even more afraid of saying something right. We turn to the scenery, Catacombs filled with lost souls. A maze of tunnels People scurrying about like mice Never acknowledging those that pass us by. All these trains rushing by, The clattering of rails, Men suited up Attending a funeral of faith, A Friday mass of greed.

I find it funny; A preacher walked up to me today at the train station, He asked me where I was headed. His eyes were weary, Worn down by the years.... Of being ignored. They were a faded green, He lacked that spark That many of his kind had. I told him where I was going, It didn't really matter Since I had somewhere to be. He gave me this smile That bordered on a grimace, The smile of a broken man. It's quite funny, Today I met a preacher Abandoned by God.

Her eyes that stare at the depths of my soul Are a translucent green, And with lips that play upon the chords of my heart. So sweet and flavoursome is she, That subtle taste of aniseed Which dances on my tongue as her grip tightens. When she is around, I can see heaven itself In my state of ecstasy. But when she is done, Oh, when she has left me How sullied I am in my sober state. Oh how sweet is she, The green fairy that leaves me enamoured.

I am a fool for you, For in your perfect eyes I am not much else. I can play the fool, Or a drunken lout, An actor in his role, A Byronic hero left unsung, With words left unwritten. This nectar which I consume, Is not the sweet wine, But a bitter liquor That burns away my shame. A cigarette lit, Eases this transition In the hope of appearing much more than I am, But in your eyes, I am much less, Am I not? I watch as rose petals hit the floor, As the rain pours down upon this moor And long for you, as my heart swings to and fro; I wonder how I could let it end so. For your presence takes my breath away I watch the branches dance and sway. Shaken by wind that blows so cold. I know how it feels, since you are not there for me to hold. So many pieces that I have read or seen to which one cannot deem to be excellent, nor fantastic, or even remotely good... Yet they receive more praise then they actually should. What is there to write about, that I have not written yet? Of all the words I've said, I barely know her myself. Her beauty that rivals a rose, a voice that resembles an angelic choir, and a smile that reminds me of a summer morn... Scars left from a rose's thorns

"The mark of a mature man is a certain scar he bares; the memory of a perfect woman never won, or a once true love forever lost. However much he may love you, he is only here because she is not." - anonymous I guess its time to move. Oh well, at least I was capable of developing my writing skills as I strived to achieve the perfection her beauty had. So I've got a  ton of poems written all over the place that I'm to collect and post. I'll be uploading some of them in the next few days though its going to take me awhile to type them up. As always I'm hoping for some feedback and criticism.

So finally my exams are over and I can start working on my poetry again (not that my exams stopped me, I just figured it would be a good excuse to cover up my laziness). Also I've really cut down on my smoking, I haven't bought a pack of cigs for 6 months now. Actually thats a lie although I haven't smoked a whole packet by myself in 6 months so thats still something to be proud of. Well actually not really, since I'm scrounging off my mates at least once a week for a smoke, still from about 10 a day to once a week is still pretty good. Word of the day: Sobriety

Sobriety; the state of being sober Sobriety; the bane of my existence, among other things. Two months without alcohol and two weeks without a cigarette, the cravings really are starting to kick in. Oh well this entry was really nothing more than random boredom, also I wanted to condense a rant to less than a paragraph; looks like I succeeded.
